Townes Van Zandt: A Gentle Evening with Townes Van Zandt
Here’s an artist and an album you might not have heard of…
Recorded at Carnegie Hall during late 1969, the tapes were then lost for a while due to issues in the recording industry – then finally produced this past 2002. Something like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and any other blues/rock/folk band you want to throw in… you’ll enjoy the offbeat/burlesque humor of ‘Talking KKK Blues,’ the clownish revelry of ‘Talking Thunderbird Wine Blues’ – and other jocular dialogue mixed within the tracks. There's also plenty of sober heart-ache in these rag-tag-heaven ballads. This is great for background music at a Bar-B-Q, just sitting out on the porch, or the perfect road trip. This ‘Talking Blues’ style album wouldn’t be posted if it didn’t get the Kierkegaardian stamp of approval!
This album does have a little bit of harsh realities, so try not to play it loud around all the kids. But hey, the Grapevine Library carries it!

I just plugged "Townes Van Zandt" in Pandora and The Catfish Song came up. Really enjoyable... I'm going to see how Pandora plays this out. Now it's playing something relevant from The Wallflowers.
