Here in TX we've got severe 'Burn Bans' in effect... and from what folks tell me, you can get an arson charge just for burning your trash, etc. For some great vintage artwork, and tips on how to prevent fires during this season's arid climate (and just for the environmentalist in all of us): here's the classically upbuilding - Smokey the Bear!
There's quite a lot of Smokey the Bear posters on eBay. I went to the Smokey Vault too and the first or second poster would be freaking awesome to have original copies of.

I wonder if there is a copyright on the old posters... and/or if you could sell them on the www.akook.com merchandise list as t-shirts?

That's interesting... I'd like to look into that a bit more.

"In 1952, Smokey Bear had enough public recognition to attract commercial interest. An Act of Congress passed to take Smokey out of the public domain and place him under the control of the Secretary of Agriculture."
Oops, Smokey is owned and protected by the Fed...
don't do anything to get yourself in trouble by selling anything without a permit.
